As Senior Quality Engineer, the successful candidate will lead Quality Activities, aimed at delivering structure and priority to drive resolution of quality issues.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Facilitating the achievement of quality objectives and targets set
- Taking a proactive, hands-on approach as part of the quality team. Working closely with management, production and other department to drive quality forward
- Dealing with customers and suppliers, resolving both internal and external issues
- Implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Proactively auditing in house to ensure processes are continually improving
- Ensuring learning created form issue resolution process is driven forward
- Lead all aspects of people management, motivation and development
- Planning and development of necessary skills
- Supporting, developing, maintaining and improving the QMS, conducting audits against the system
- Ensuring the company Quality Policy is implemented, maintained and improved
Key skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a quality improvement role is essential
- Experience of ISO 9001:2015 and auditing of system is required
- Strong understanding of core quality skills (8D, fishbone, 5y, SPC, CAPA)
- Desire to learn and improve own skillset
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to monitor and report on quality metrics, process performance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
- Ability to conduct statistical analysis of customer related data
- Experience of presenting in Senior forums
- Proactive approach to quality, engaging with the shop floor
- Strong IT skills – MS Office
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment would be beneficial
Hours of work: Monday – Thursday, 8.15am – 5.00pm. Friday, 8.15am – 1pm
Holidays: 25 days + bank holiday.
