Job Description

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Sales Manager in the Manchester / North West area. The client has been established for over 25 years and is a leading supplier of non-food solutions to the retail trade. This challenging and exciting dual purpose role requires the Regional Sales Manager to have full responsibility for business development of the region and managing a team of 5 Sales Representatives in the North of England. The role reports to the Sales Director and performance will be measured by achieving new business growth, volume and sales growth. Exposure to the FMCG sector will be advantageous.

Responsibilities will include:
• Developing business with targeted accounts in the region.
• Contract negotiations, building relationships and execution of KPI’s for assigned accounts.
• Managing the Joint Business Planning process, ensuring business objectives are jointly owned and exceeded.
• Developing strong relationships within the customer’s business.
• Manage account budgets ensuring spend is in line with agreed objectives and contractual obligations.
• Develop trade and channel marketing plans in line with UK business plans.
• Accurate forecasting, using data analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
• Maintain and agree contractual obligations and ensure the highest levels of customer service.

Required experience:
• Experience in the FMCG sector, working with large chain retailers preferred
• Experience Key Account management.
• Experience in sales forecasting using data analysis and logical assumptions.
• Strong track record of achieving sales and profit targets.
• Commercially astute and able to drive business performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a variety of audiences.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
• Self-starter with experience of working independently and the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Problem solving ability and able to think on your feet.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
