Job Description

As HR Assistant you will report directly to the Head of HR supporting the Head Office HR function.


Key duties will include:

  • Answering queries in line with existing HR policies and procedures
  • Updating and monitoring sickness absence data and procedures
  • Preparing contractual documentation using templates
  • Producing notes for meeting under formal procedures – discipline, grievance, absence management etc
  • Overseeing the correct maintenance of HR records, ensuring that all relevant documentation is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Managing induction processes to ensure successful onboarding is achieved
  • Managing holiday requests and maintaining records
  • Processing subject access requests in according with data protection
  • Providing face to face and telephone guidance to colleagues and managers on a range of day to day HR procedural queries as required
  • Research and collate information for the Head of HR
  • Assisting and advising Head Office colleagues with recruitment exercises as required
  • Carrying out recruitment interviewing with colleagues as appropriate


Key skills and experience required:

  • Previous generalist HR experience in a busy HR administration environment is essential
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Conscientious and reliable
  • Helpful and approachable
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work confidentially is essential


Candidates need to be qualified to CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) standard.


Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm

Holidays: 20 days + bank holidays
