Working as CAD Designer within a small team, your key duties will include:
- Producing Designs: Using AutoCAD and potentially 3Ds Max to create detailed and visually appealing designs that meet client specifications and budget constraints.
- Pricing and Quoting: Assessing the requirements of each design project, calculating costs accurately, and providing clear and informative quotations.
- Preparing Presentations: Developing presentations that effectively showcase proposed designs, supporting them with visual aids and explanations.
- Site Surveys and Meetings: Conducting site surveys to gather essential information for design projects and attending meetings with clients, suppliers, and installation teams as needed.
- Customer and Supplier Liaison: Handling customer enquiries, collaborating with suppliers to source materials, and coordinating with installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- General Administration: Undertaking various administrative tasks to support the design process and maintain efficient workflow within the team.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 2D CAD Design: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software to create accurate 2D drawings based on provided specifications and measurements.
- Quantifying and Costing Designs: Understanding how to quantify materials and costs associated with designs to provide accurate pricing and quotations.
- Computer Literacy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications for various administrative tasks and communication purposes.
- Experience in Design: Previous experience in a design role or environment, with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and adhere to commercial standards.
- Attention to Detail: Possessing a meticulous eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of designs and documentation.
- Willingness to Learn: Demonstrating an eagerness to acquire new skills and adapt to emerging technologies and methodologies in the field of design.
Beneficial Experience:
- 3D Modeling: Familiarity with 3Ds Max or similar software for 3D modeling, including proficiency in rendering software like Arnold Render, can enhance the quality and presentation of designs.
- Unreal Engine: Experience with Unreal Engine can be advantageous for creating immersive and interactive presentations to further engage clients.
- Adobe Photoshop: Proficiency in Photoshop can complement your design skills, particularly for editing and enhancing visual materials.
Working Conditions:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4.30pm
- Holidays: 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
